HelloFresh Meal Delivery Company Introduces Vegan Options

HelloFresh, a company which delivers meals to customers’ homes, has tapped into the growing vegan movement and purchased Green Chef, for an undisclosed price. Green Chef, a fellow meal delivery service, caters for people with a diverse range of lifestyles, including vegans, people on a gluten-free diet, ketogenic-eaters, and meat-eaters.

Home delivery meal services are becoming highly sought-after. The demand coincides with a rise in busy, fast-paced lifestyles whereby some feel they lack the time, knowledge, or resources required to maintain a balanced eating schedule.

Since it was founded in 2014 by Michael Joseph, Green Chef has accumulated close to 300,000 followers on Facebook, though it is said this number does not reflect Green Chef’s popularity.

HelloFresh stated in a press release, “[t]he acquisition of Green Chef will drive synergies for operations, logistics, and procurement. HelloFresh will gain its first office and production facility in the state of Colorado and integrate Green Chef into its operations and culinary teams.”

The two companies say they share similar values regarding food safety and producing quality meals with only the freshest available ingredients, right down to their sauces. Furthermore, both brands are committed to packaging their food sustainably as well as making decisions influenced by customer data, to exceed expectations with every delivery.

“Our customers are at the center of our thinking when it comes to offering great dinner experiences. Green Chef has a groundbreaking approach to its organic menus and will be the perfect addition to HelloFresh’s meal plans,” added Tobias Hartmann, the President for North America at HelloFresh.

“HelloFresh will now offer the most customized meal choices to customers and we are excited to welcome Green Chef’s talented team and production resources to HelloFresh.”

Joseph also mentioned the company was the first ever meal delivery service in America to gain organic and gluten-free certifications, a motion which distinguishes claims from true practices. Now that HelloFresh owns the brand, they are able to increase the availability and distribution of Green Chef’s healthy meals across the country.
