In case you missed it, the past week saw a lot of news in the fashion and beauty world.

Louis Vuitton released its first shoes made from plant-based materials. The unisex Charlie sneakers are made with a combination of recycled and natural materials. Hailey Bieber joined the celebrity skincare market, revealing that her skincare line will be launching next year. In more beauty news, CoverGirl debuted its first-ever skincare line. And it’s vegan and cruelty-free.

In food news, Nestlé backed Sundial Foods, a plant-based meat company that’s making realistic wings that feature simulated skin and bones. Matthew Kenney’s portfolio of restaurants is about to get bigger. The vegan chef is set to open Adesse in London’s top department store, Selfridge’s in early 2022.

And for some good news for the UK’s sea life, the British government is amending its Animal Welfare Bill to recognize octopuses, crabs, lobsters, and more as sentient beings.
