The Seattle Interactive Conference (SIC), an event that celebrates what’s happening at the “intersection of technology, creativity, and commerce” in Seattle and beyond, will spotlight a vegan company for the first time ever later this week.

LIVEKINDLY (LK) CEO and founder Jodi Monelle will lead a fireside chat-style panel called “Female Founders: Turning a Lifestyle Into a Business,” which will discuss the ins-and-outs of leading a purpose-driven business.

“I’m honored to be invited to share my thoughts on the challenges with raising funds that I’ve encountered as a female leader in a typically male-dominated arena,” Monelle said. “I hope that others can learn to navigate obstacles successfully by learning from my mistakes and why it’s so important to build a mission-driven company in this day and age.”

Co-founded by Brian Rauschenbach, president of digital marketing agency Add3, and Gloria Connors, founder of the event production management company Connors & Co, the SIC aims to uplift entrepreneurs and inspire individuals to innovate. Rauschenbach, along with SIC speaker and growth marketing expert Alvin Glay, were investment partners in LK’s most recent seed round, which raised nearly $1 million CAD. Rauschenbach invested after recognizing LK’s massive potential in reaching a wide audience.

This year’s event will welcome more than 150 speakers from a variety of professional backgrounds, including Snapchat, Vice, Rover, Slack, advertisement and marketing agencies, and others. The SIC will also highlight a number of other female founders. With Pause founder Renee Metty will lead a panel with HR leader Amanda Townsend. Other speakers include Hope Cochran and Shauna Casey of the Madrona Venture Group, Thriving Elements founder Janet Phan, and others. Panel topics range from overcoming imposter syndrome, a psychological condition in which an individual feels like a fraud, building a collaborative work culture, inclusion and equality on social media, and more.

“We invite visionaries from across the globe to inspire our city to reach even higher,” states the official website. “We are a community of thinkers and makers, of dreamers and doers. We gather together to get better together. We believe that innovation and success comes with responsibility and opportunity. Each year, we spend two days sharing inspiration and forging connections so that every attendee leaves motivated and empowered to push further.”

The SIC is set to take place later this week from October 17-18 at The Conference Center in Seattle. For more information, visit the official website.
