Billie Eilish Battles Spicy Vegan Hotwings With Soy Milk and Soda

Seventeen-year-old singer-songwriter Billie Eilish took on ten spicy vegan hot wings during a recent episode of “Hot Ones,” and came back for more.

The artist, behind songs like “ocean eyes” and “lovely,” recently appeared on the web series that challenges celebrities to eat spicy chicken wings while answering questions about their lives and careers.

Eilish enjoyed plant-based nuggets in place of meat and relied on water, ice, and soy milk to cool the effects of the spiced wings, which get hotter with each round.

During the interview, hosted by Sean Evans, the musician spoke about art, love, Taco Bell, and at one point, mixed her dairy-free milk with grape soda; “with the soy milk it’s better,” she said.

Eilish also told Evans about a time when she sprained her ankle and was “healed” by fellow vegan entertainer Jaden Smith.

Evans and Eilish tapped their vegan nuggets together to say “cheers” as they pushed on through the spice levels. The final sauce — rated 2,000,000+ on the Scoville scale — saw Eilish not only complete the challenge but also come back for seconds.

Is Billie Eilish Vegan?

Writing on her blog last year, the songwriter revealed she transitioned to veganism around 2014. There were “a lot of reasons” for the change including dairy’s impact on the body and animal welfare – “leave animals alone,” she wrote.

On another occasion, Eilish Tweeted, “For being a vegan, [I] have more beef than anyone.”

“Hot Ones” Vegan Guests

Eilish joins a host of other notable names that have opted for vegan wings during “Hot Ones.”

Vegan actor Natalie Portman chowed down on meat-free wings whilst speaking about the documentary “Eating Animals,” which explores the ethics of the food system.

Musician “Weird Al” Yankovic ate spicy vegan wings on the show and revealed one of his signature recipes, which involves a Twinkie and a tofu dog.

Jeff Goldblum, who has appeared in “Jurassic Park” and “Independence Day,” also opted for vegan hot wings, made out of tofu and tempeh. Alexa Chung, Ricky Gervais, Russell Brand, Vanessa Hudgens, and “Broad City” stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer have also enjoyed vegan wings on the show.
