Arctic Zero Launches Low-Calorie, Low-Sugar Vegan Ice Cream

Arctic Zero Launches Low-Calorie, Low-Sugar Vegan Ice Cream At Amazon and Whole Foods

Low-calorie ice cream brand Arctic Zero has launched its first-ever line of vegan ice cream.

According to the press release, the “better-for-you” ice cream brand has reformulated its whey-based, lactose-free line of low-calorie ice creams with all plant-based ingredients in order to cater to dairy-free customers. The brand’s new nondairy frozen dessert line features nine flavors made from faba bean protein –  which gives the vegan ice cream a rich, creamy texture – and sweetened with organic cane sugar and monk fruit concentrate. Each pint of Arctic Zero’s new dairy-free line contains between 160 to 320 calories per pint and between 5 to 9 grams of sugar per serving.

“We created the original Arctic Zero so that people with restrictions like lactose-intolerance, low-sugar and low-calorie diets could enjoy a delicious frozen dessert without junk ingredients like erythritol and other sugar alcohols,” said Amit Pandhi, CEO of Arctic Zero.

“True to our founding promise, our new plant-based Arctic Zero Non-Dairy contains the cleanest, premium ingredients we could source including faba bean protein. We’re confident our long-time fans also are going to love the change. Arctic Zero Non-Dairy pints have a much stronger, richer flavor that really wows and a creamier texture than ever,” Pandhi continued.

“In our effort to get the texture and rich flavor of traditional ice cream, we experimented with dozens of different core ingredients for our Non-Dairy pints,” said Greg Holtman, founder and chief flavor innovator for the brand.“Ultimately, the faba bean emerged as the perfect candidate for its luxurious mouth-feel and a slightly sweet flavor with no aftertaste to interfere with all of our delicious mix-ins.”

Arctic Zero will offer its low-sugar, low-calorie vegan ice cream in the flavors Cake Batter, Hint of Mint, Purely Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Brownie Blast, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cookie Dough Chunk, Cherry Chocolate Chunk, and Cookie Shake.

The popular ice cream brand is not alone in catering to the consumer demand for healthier vegan ice cream. Last January, cult-hit low-calorie frozen dessert brand Halo Top expanded upon its nondairy line with seven new flavors. Earlier this summer, dairy-free brand So Delicious launched a line of low-calorie vegan “Mousse” ice creams, which contain between 300 to 330 calories per pint.

Arctic Zero’s new vegan ice creams are now available online through Amazon. According to the brand, it will debut nationwide in retailers this fall.
