Ben & Jerry's Vegan AmeriCone Dream Hitting Shelves!

Ben & Jerry’s vegan AmeriCone Dream is hitting store shelves. And we can’t wait to try it.

The ice cream giant is releasing a vegan version of comedian Stephen Colbert’s flavor, AmeriCone Dream. The television host first teamed up with Ben & Jerry’s in 2007 to launch the dairy-based ice cream flavor.

But the new AmeriCone Dream flavor will feature all the same great taste just minus the dairy. The company makes the non-dairy version with almond milk. Just like the original version, it features a vanilla base with fudge-covered waffle cones and caramel swirled in.

And just like its dairy-based counterpart, the dairy-free ice cream flavor supports The Stephen Colbert AmeriCone Dream Fund. The fund supports a number of charitable causes. These include programs that provide medical assistance and food to disadvantaged children, organizations that provide aid to veterans and their families, as well as various environmental causes.

Ben & Jerry’s Expanding Dairy-Free Range

Ben & Jerry’s vegan AmeriCone Dream isn’t the company’s first flavor to support a meaningful cause. In August 2020, the company released a vegan flavor inspired by climate change.

Available in the UK, the “Save Our Swirled” flavor combines almond milk ice cream with caramel swirls, coconut, and chocolate chunks. The ingredients are similar to the brand’s vegan Coconutterly Caramel’d flavor. However, the Save Our Swirled flavor’s packaging aims to raise awareness for climate change.

And in December 2020, the company announced it would be launching a vegan flavor in honor of Colin Kaepernick. It teamed up with the former NFL quarterback to launch a flavor that supports social justice.

Called “Change the Whirled,” it includes a caramel sunflower butter base with fudge chips, graham cracker swirls, and chocolate cookie swirls. The packaging features a picture of Kaepernick with a raised fist and the slogan “I know my rights.”

Ben & Jerry’s vegan AmeriCone Dream is the company’s 18th non-dairy flavor.

The Vermont-based brand just released a dairy-free dupe of Karamel Sutra Core, which was first released in 2002. Available in stores now, the vegan frozen dessert features chocolate and caramel ice cream made from almond milk. It’s packed with fudge chips and contains a soft caramel sauce “core.”

The popular creamery also launched a vegan version of its iconic, fan-favorite flavor, Phish Food. Just like the original, the non-dairy treat features chocolate ice cream with marshmallow, caramel swirls, and fudge fish.
