Just in time for a back to work meal deal, popular UK cosmetics chain, Boots, has launched a new vegan range.
According to an observant facebook user, the range is currently in store and all options are available as part of the £3.29 meal deal which also buys you a drink and a snack. The range is made up of four products, although they are very varied. The chain already offered one salad and sandwich option suitable for vegans, as well as releasing a Christmas sandwich for the festive period.
Boots now offers a Coronation Veggie Sandwich, a great alternative to the classic Coronation Chicken, as well as a Tandoori Style Beetroot Flatbread. You can also grab a Samosa Style Veggie Wrap or a Sweet Potato Falafel Veggie Box which comes with avocado houmous!
Currently, the sandwich and the veggie box are labeled limited edition, so if you want to get your hands on that avocado houmous you might need to act fast.
With the new year just around the corner, and it being the perfect time to set your mind to making some lifestyle changes, a great many chains across the UK can be expected to expand their vegan ranges.
With veganism set to be 2018’s megatrend, it seems only logical that vegan convenience food will soon be found just about everywhere. Recently Labour MP, Matt Rodda, backed a campaign calling for more vegan meal deal options to be available in the UK. ‘I think it is important that people have a choice about what they eat when they buy a sandwich and I want to support the campaign for vegans to get the chance to buy sandwiches in the same way as people who eat meat, or who are vegetarians but eat dairy produce,’ he said.
