California’s Disneyland theme park just opened its first craft-beer taproom. The venue, operated by the Ballast Point brewery, serves up plant-based food and a wide range of vegan beer.
A 4,000 sq. ft. glass-enclosed bar and restaurant and a 3,000 sq. ft. outdoor beer garden make up the family-friendly venue, according to a press release.
Soyrizo and cauliflower tacos featuring avocado, chipotle tofu aioli, and marinated vegetables, served alongside chips and salsa, is also on offer as an entrée.
More than fifty styles of Ballast Point’s “adventurous beer” is available across 100 tap lines, the press release said. In 2011, Ballast Point stopped using a common gelatin-based filtration process for its beer.
“This new location also gives our passionate brewing and culinary teams the perfect place to test new and inventive offerings, as we welcome longtime Ballast Point fans and introduce new guests to our brand,” said Ballast Point president Ben Dollard.

Disney’s Vegan Food
As the public’s interest in plant-based, cruelty-free food grows, businesses move to cater to the demand. Disney has been particularly sensitive to shifting consumer preferences, making plant-based food more readily available at many of its theme parks.
California’s Disneyland was home to four vegan meals in honor of World Vegan Day last year, and offers dairy-free Dole Whip all year round. The cult-favorite dessert just extended beyond its signature pineapple flavor to include orange and raspberry flavors as well. Vegan gumbo, burgers, cupcakes, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and crepes are also available.
In Florida, Disney World serves vegan egg and sausage breakfast, complete with scrambled eggs from JUST and meat from Beyond Meat. It also houses Erin McKenna’s vegan and gluten-free bakery in Disney Springs.
