Domino’s UK Is Launching a Meaty Vegan Pizza and Nuggets

Domino’s UK is launching two new vegan meat options for January 2021: Chick-Ain’t pizza and nuggets.

The multinational pizza chain is launching the new items to coincide with Veganuary, a campaign that encourages people to ditch animal products for the first month of the year.

The initiative shared the news of Domino’s new vegan chicken on its Instagram account.

The Chick-Ain’t pizza features hand-stretched vegan dough, vine-ripened tomato sauce, dairy-free Cheezly, and “delicious” plant-based strips. Topped with onions and bell peppers, the pizza comes with a medium classic crust or a large Italian-style base.

The Vegan Nuggets feature “tasty bites” of plant-based chicken coated in crispy, southern-fried breadcrumbs. Customers can order both new meals with Domino’s popular vegan Garlic & Herb Dip.

Domino’s UK launched its Vegan Friendly range nationwide for the first time in September. The Chick-Aint pizza and Vegan Nuggets join the Vegan Margarita, Vegan Vegi Supreme, and Potato Wedges.

“Our food innovation team haven’t stopped experimenting in the test kitchen since we launched our Vegan Friendly range a few months ago and we just know our customers are going to adore the Chick-Ain’t pizza and Vegan Nuggets,” said Melanie Howe, Domino’s Food and Communications Manager, in a statement

“Feedback on the existing range has been overwhelmingly good,” added Howe. “It’s brilliant to offer even more choice to customers. These delicious additions land in stores just in time for the start of Veganuary, pizza and plants truly are a match made in heaven!”

Vegan pizza at Domino’s

Domino’s vegan options vary from country to country. The chain launched its first fully plant-based pizza in Israel back in 2013. In Germany, menus already feature a vegan chicken pizza, and Domino’s Australia has stocked vegan cheese since 2018. The UK’s vegan menu is relatively recent, but with the increasing number of options, it’s catching up fast.

Earlier this year, Howe said: “Domino’s may not be the first, but following fantastic feedback from our recent trial, we’re confident ours tastes the best.”

Domino’s extended Vegan Friendly range will be available from January 4 to order online, through the app, and from stores across the UK and Republic of Ireland. The Chick Ain’t costs approximately £17.99 for a medium Classic and £19.99 for a large Italian-style. Vegan Nuggets are £5.99 per-portion.

You can also create your own plant-based pizza at Domino’s by asking for the vegan crust.
