The second Halo Top Scoop Shop brick-and-mortar location from the popular low-calorie ice cream brand is set to open in Los Angeles later this month at the massive outdoor shopping mall Westfield Century City. While this isn’t the popular grocery store ice cream brand’s first foray into the brick-and-mortar market Eater LA reports that the new location will be the first to feature vegan soft serve.
Last year, the cult hit ice cream brand opened its first brick-and-mortar at the Westfield Topanga mall. The storefront location offers pints and scoops of both its dairy and non-dairy ice cream flavors. It also offered something entirely new, albeit, not vegan: low-calorie soft serve ice cream.
However, all that will change when the second Halo Top Scoop Shop opens its doors on April 24th, complete with soft serve machines offering vegan options and a toppings bar of over 50 choices. It will also offer the same pints and scoops as the previous location (including vegan options) in over 20 flavors.

Last year, the game-changing brand debuted seven coconut milk-based vegan versions of its popular ice cream flavors, stating that it was releasing “the world’s first low-calorie ice cream that is both non-dairy and vegan-friendly.” Earlier this year, seven additional vegan ice cream flavors were introduced to the company’s dairy-free line.
In a press release for the initial vegan flavor launch, Founder and CEO of Halo Top, Justin Woolverton said: “The number one request that we get from our fans is to make a non-dairy and vegan-friendly version of Halo Top.” Between releasing a total of 14 vegan ice cream pint flavors and dairy-free soft serve at the upcoming brick-and-mortar location, Halo Top appears to know how to keep vegan ice cream lovers happy.
The popularity of vegan ice cream shows no signs of slowing down and leading brands like Ben & Jerry’s and Haagen-Dazs continue to add to their ever-expanding vegan offerings. Market research firm Future Market Insights predicts that the American vegan ice cream market is set to reach $1 billion by 2027 while the global market is set to reach an estimated value of $2.45 billion.
