Jamie Oliver Restaurants Launch a Vegan Menu

Jamie Oliver Restaurants Launch Vegan Italian Menu

Jamie Oliver’s restaurant chain Jamie’s Italian will soon be serving up vegan Italian food in Australia.

The chain just announced a new vegan and vegetarian menu which will launch next week. The new menu features more than 20 dishes which, according to the company, will satisfy people of all dietary preferences.

The new options include a vegan nut roast which is made with quinoa, squash, mushroom, and apricot and is served with arrabbiata sauce.

Vegan mushroom ravioli will also be available. It will include pasta parcels stuffed with mixed mushrooms and chestnuts and served in a light tomato and mushroom sauce.

As well as vegan starters and sides, many of the new vegetarian options can be made vegan on request, including the Tagliatelle Pomodoro, the Casarecce Alla Norma, and all of the salads.

Jamie Oliver and Vegan Food

The British celebrity chef and restaurateur is not new to the vegan food scene. Last year, Oliver announced that a dedicated vegan and vegetarian menu would launch his Jamie’s Italian restaurants in the UK and abroad. The chef said the National Vegetarian Week initiative inspired him to create the menu.

Oliver publicly showed his support for the campaign while it was running in May last year, and a statement on his restaurant’s website noted, “Jamie is passionate about how much good we can do for ourselves and the environment by cutting back the amount of meat we eat – so of course we wanted to support this brilliant initiative, too.”

The plant-based menu included tomato-based pastas with vegan parmesan, whole-roasted Sicilian-style cauliflower, superfood salads, and four types of pizza.

Oliver also developed a vegan menu for the world’s first plant-based football team, the Forest Green Rovers. Members of the Rovers said that Oliver showed excitement about the team’s vision.

Earlier this year, Oliver announced he was releasing a plant-powered cookbook with more than 100 recipes. The cookbook, titled “Veg,” was created to celebrate “really good, tasty food that just happens to be meat-free,” Oliver said in a statement.

Jamie’s Italian’s new vegan and vegetarian menu will be available from July 2.
