Kat Von D Launches Vegan Lipstick to Raise Money for Rescued Farm Animals

American tattoo artist and entrepreneur Kat Von D has announced the release of a new lipstick. The product is part of her upcoming Farm Sanctuary collection, with proceeds going toward the animal protection organisation.

Kat Von D is a model, musician, tattoo artist, TV personality, and entrepreneur. Her make-up line Kat Von D Beauty was launched in 2008 and her following on Instagram exceeds 6 million people.

Kat Von D has been eating vegan for several years. While her products have never been tested on animals, last year Kat Von D decided to make all of her beauty products 100% vegan.

Her new lipstick shade “Hilda” is no exception. Proceeds earned from this product will be donated to Farm Sanctuary, an organisation that advocates for animal rights. Farm Sanctuary was America’s first shelter for farm animals.

The sanctuary’s mission is “To protect farm animals from cruelty, to inspire change in the way society views and treats farm animals, and to promote compassionate vegan living.”

Some beauty brands still use animal products in their cosmetics. However, many companies are opting for cruelty-free options. This year, sales of vegan cosmetics have increased by 100%.

Kat Von D says, “Bottom line: cruelty is NEVER in fashion.”
