Last week, reality television star Kim Kardashian posted a photo of herself posed next to her refrigerator—practically empty, aside from cartons of dairy and vegan milk. The pic quickly drew comments from the Internet. “Y’all eat air too?? coz I see no food in that fridge ma’am,” one person quipped.
Now, the 39-year-old has taken it upon herself to clear the air. “OK, so since the inside of my fridge is so baffling, and I saw all these news reports, I’m going to give you guys a tour of my fridge,” Kardashian said on her Instagram stories last Wednesday.
First, Kardashian shared her pantry, packed with glass jars (she cut back on single-use plastic for environmental reasons last December). She then explained that each of her kids drinks a different type of milk, explaining the line-up of oat, pea protein, almond, and dairy.

Is Kim Kardashian Vegan?
In reality, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star has a walk-in refrigerator. “We keep all of our fresh, organic produce. We are building on the property all organic trees to grow our own vegetables,” she said. Showing a few prepped meals, which included vegan tacos, she added, “You guys know I eat plant-based now.” She even has stacks of Beyond Meat sausages in her fridge.
Last April, the KKW Beauty founder announced on her Instagram stories that she eats plant-based at home. Writing on Poosh–her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s website–she explained that she made the switch following her psoriatic arthritis diagnosis.
“I live a healthy life and try to eat as plant-based as possible and drink sea moss smoothies,” she wrote. “With all the stress in life, I try to make sure I take time for myself so that I am centered and keep my stress to a minimum.”
While the reality star’s dietary choices may be health-related, she has also altered her wardrobe choices. In May 2018, she shared that she had parted ways with fur fashion following an open letter from vegan actor and activist Pamela Anderson. Last June, she revealed on Instagram that she had replaced all of her favorite fur coats with faux versions.
