Lewis Hamilton's Vegan Burger Joint to Open 7 More Locations

Lewis Hamilton-backed vegan burger joint, Neat Burger, is set to expand with seven more locations.

Neat Burger has three locations in London. However, one—which is located in Soho—is currently closed. The company announced a fourth location in Canary Wharf and revealed plans to launch seven additional locations throughout the city.

Zack Bish, Neat Burger’s director, told the Evening Standard that the growing demand for plant-based foods encouraged the company’s expansion. “A few years ago, most people would not have been that into the idea of a plant-based burger restaurant, and restaurants had one option on the menu to cater for the vegetarians,” Bish explained.

He continued: “Even meat-eaters are going out of their way to choose plant-based options as the awareness of the effect it has on the world grows and grows.”The chain offers “unique patties” that were specially formulated by its team of chefs in collaboration with Beyond Meat.

Lewis Hamilton: Vegan Burger Joint

The first location of Neat Burger opened in London in the summer of 2019.

In March 2020, the vegan burger restaurant expanded its delivery service to eight new areas across London amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Bringing Neat Burger to a little more of London, day by day. New locations launch today including; Bethnal Green, City, Hackney, Haggerston, Shoreditch, Mike End, Wapping and Whitechapel,” the chain captioned on Instagram at the time.

The company has ambitious plans to expand globally. It previously revealed its goal was to open 14 franchises within 24 months.

Neat Burger has made sustainability another one of its goals. “I’m very passionate about being kinder to our world and also really respect Neat Burger’s commitment to more ethical practices and supporting small businesses, so this is something I’m also really proud to support,” Hamilton, a key investor in the vegan chain, said in a statement.

Neat Burger’s co-founder, Tommaso Chiabra shares the same sentiment. “The meat industry is the biggest contributor to greenhouse emissions and its environmental impact is no longer sustainable together with the growth of population,” Chiabra said.

In coordination with The Eden Projects, an organization that works to counter deforestation, a tree is planted for every Neat Burger product sold.
