Quarantined Miley Cyrus and Ellen DeGeneres Adopt Rescue Dogs

Vegan singer Miley Cyrus and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres have adopted rescue dogs.

Maintaining social distancing, the pair spoke about their new companions—Rainbow (known as Bow) and Wally—over video chat. The conversation was streamed on Cyrus’ new Instagram Live series “Bright Minded.”

Cyrus launched the daily Instagram show earlier this month. The live stream enables the singer to give her fans “quarantine content” during the coronavirus outbreak.

Today’s episode is focused on animal adoption, foster, animal care, so we have some special guest animal lovers and the star of the show himself: Bow,” Cyrus said, before introducing her new pet. Bow joins Cyrus’ clan of seven dogs, three cats, two horses, and two mini horses.

Bright Minded: Live with Miley

Although she started “Bright Minded” as a way to keep her fans entertained during this period of self-isolation and social distancing, Cyrus plans on continuing the show after the coronavirus pandemic ends.

She has already featured a number of celebrities on the show, including Dua Lipa, Hilary Duff, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Richie, and Paris Hilton. She currently only video chats with her guests.

An animal lover, Cyrus says once she’s able to have guests in-person, she’ll allow them to bring their companion animals on the show.

When I have my talk show, and I can [actually have] people here… I’m going to allow animals always on the set,” she said.

She added, “I have so many friends that I would have on my show that have the cutest dogs, cutest cats, bunnies, and birds, […] so I’d love to have all of my friends always able to bring all their animals.”

DeGeneres recently adopted her rescue poodle Wally from the same rescue Cyrus adopted Bow. She told Cyrus her companion animals wouldn’t be able to be guests on the show because they are not always nice to everyone.

Our dogs, cats…they’re socially distancing all the time,” DeGeneres joked. The “Ellen” host has three other dogs and three cats.

“Bright Minded: Live with Miley” airs Monday through Friday at 11:30 am PST on Cyrus’ Instagram.
