Kevin Smith, Comic-Con, and saving animals? Seems like the ultimate trio? It’s all within reach, thanks to a new contest by Omaze.
The online fundraising platform launched a new competition; you can “chill with Kevin Smith on the IMDboat at Comic-Con,” if you donate to two charities: Make-A-Wish and the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation.
The former grants critically ill children with wishes, including everything from meeting a celebrity, going on holiday, to riding in a sports car. The latter — formerly known as Animal Avengers — was founded by actor Shannon Elizabeth (Smith’s reported BFF, who is also set to star in his upcoming film, “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot”.
The nonprofit’s mission “is to conserve, by any means possible, the natural environment, including animals and habitats for endangered species.” It does so by funding environmental and animal protection projects and advocating for conservation in public policy.
The More You Donate, The Higher Your Chances of Winning
A contribution of $10 to these organizations will give the donator 100 chances at being selected for Omaze’s Comic-Con experience, $25 will give the donator 250 chances, and $5000 will give them 50,000 chances to win.
The winner will also have the chance to interview Kevin Smith for IMDB, watch other celebrity interviews, receive sold-out 4-day passes to the whole event, and stay in a 4-star hotel in San Diego.
“Wanna hit the high seas with me aboard the [IMDboat] at [Comic-Con]?” he asked. “We’ll throw in fights, hotel and badges, too! It’s an [Omaze] event to support the fine folks at [Make a Wish America] and the animal avengers at [Shannon Elizabeth’s Shannon Elizabeth Foundation].”
Omaze added on its website, “climb aboard the [IMDboat] to hang out, ask Kevin all your burning questions and watch as he films incredible insider content with some of the biggest names in comic books, movies, and TV.” It adds, “no offense to Silent Bob, but it’s going to be hard to keep quiet about this.”
