Starbucks Just Launched a Vegan Christmas Wrap

Starbucks Just Launched a Vegan Christmas Wrap

(Update November 12, 2020) | Starbucks UK just got more vegan options. The coffeehouse chain just launched a vegan Christmas wrap.

The Very Merry Vegan Wrap features butternut squash fritter and roasted red cabbage with maple mustard vegan mayo all wrapped in a beetroot wrap.

But this isn’t Starbucks UK’s first new vegan menu item. At the start of October, the chain added a vegan pumpkin spice cookie to the menu at all 995 Starbucks locations in the UK.

Starbucks flavors the sweet and spicy cookie with the same spice blend that’s used to make the chain’s iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte: cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. The autumnal treat is topped with dried cranberries and pumpkin seeds. The coffee giant also launched the long-awaited menu item of vegan whipped cream.

Starbucks Gets More Vegan Options

Thankfully, Starbucks UK isn’t the only region getting new vegan menu items.

Starbucks has been steadily increasing its vegan offerings in order to meet the growing consumer demand for plant-based products. In a statement, Starbucks wrote that it would be expanding its plant-based options in order to shift “toward a more environmentally friendly menu.”

In September, Starbucks began testing vegan cream cheese in one location in Issaquah, a small town outside of Seattle. The trial included two exclusive flavors of Miyoko’s Creamery’s cashew-based cream cheese spread: Everything and Cinnamon Raisin.

The following month, Starbucks began trialing a fully plant-based breakfast sandwich at the same location in Issaquah. The meat-free breakfast sandwich features a mung bean-based egg patty, dairy-free cheese, and a plant-based meat patty all sandwiched between an English muffin.

And in Asia, Starbucks Hong Kong launched two menu items featuring Impossible Foods’ vegan meat. The new menu offerings are the Maize Impossible Sandwich—which includes egg, mayonnaise, and cheese—and the Spiced Impossible Puff.

While Starbucks Hong Kong released a vegan chocolate breadstick and three new non-dairy coffee drinks. The Almond Milk Nutty Latte, the Oat Milk Cocoa Macchiato, and the Soymilk Sesame Latte are also available in eight other markets across Asia.
