These Vegan Cheese Shreds Melt Better Than Dairy

A vegan shredded cheese that melts is an absolute game-changer.

Vegan shredded cheese is essential to any kitchen and can be used in a multitude of ways. Sprinkle it between layers of pasta and sauce for a delicious lasagna, or melt it into a gooey oblivion atop a veg-lovers pizza.

Some cheese lovers think it is impossible to replicate the taste and texture of traditional dairy cheese. A variety of vegan cheese brands stretch and melt like the real thing, but their taste just doesn’t stack upor vice versa.

But for the cheese aficionados out there looking for a delectable, meltable vegan cheese, there’s now one more option that does both. Canadian company Nabati Foods has cracked the code to non-dairy shredded cheese.

Many may be familiar with the family-owned company thanks to its creamy, vegan cheesecakes. Last year, Nabati took its love for all things cheese to the next level with the launch of its own dairy-free cheese shreds.

Nabati Cheeze is available in two flavorscheddar and mozzarella. The dairy-free cheese “melts beautifully, tastes heavenly, and perfectly complements your favorite dishes.”

Raising The Bar For Plant-Based Cheese

The word “Nabati” means “plant-based” in Arabic. The name pays homage to the brand’s founders, Ahmad Yehya and Afaf Miri, and their love for all things free from animal products.

Nabati believes you don’t have to sacrifice good health in order to eat the most decadent, tasty foods.

We created a cheese alternative that bridges the gap between incumbent alternatives and dairy cheese. The texture [and the flavor] is just like cheese,” Yehya told LIVEKINDLY

Creating healthy food products has always been an important goal for the company. Nabati Foods aims to inspire others to eat compassionately and sustainably.

Health and sustainability are major elements that influence product development at Nabati Foods,” says Yehya.

We select our ingredients carefully. We create unique products using the least amount of whole food ingredients necessary to make a great product,” Yehya added.

The Edmonton-based brand’s founders worked hard to develop a cheese that everyone can indulge in.

Nabati Cheeze is made from all-natural ingredients, including organic coconut oil, organic tapioca starch, and pea protein. “Nabati Cheeze has a much lower sodium content, [fewer] carbohydrates, and is made using organic and whole food ingredients compared to competing brands,” Yehya explained.

The brand’s cheese shreds do not contain any refined sugar, artificial flavors, or GMOs. The plant-based cheese is free from common allergens, including lactose, casein, soy, and gluten. It is also kosher.

We founded Nabati Foods hoping to inspire those who value their health to indulge in real, clean, plant-based foods for a nourished, sustainable and compassionate life,” says Yehya. “Every day, we are motivated by our passion for celebrating health and our commitment to helping you live well.”

Nabati Cheeze is available in retailers across Canada, including Safeway, and can also be ordered online via the company’s website.
